Construction of Christ the King School began in 1962 after funds were raised by the parishioners to build a school directly above the Church. (The Church of Christ the King was founded in 1926)
The school opened its doors in September 1965. It was staffed by the Dominican Sisters of Blauvelt, and its cornerstone was dedicated by His Emininence, Francis Cardinal Spellman.
Over the past fifty seven years, CTK has been a beacon for the Concourse Village community in the South Bronx. The alumni of Christ the King School continue to refer to our school as "home" and share the great success stories of their lives. Each story credits the values and enriching experiences they had at our beloved school.
Christ the King School continues to provide stellar academic instruction while instilling the spiritual and moral teachings of Our Lady Savior, Jesus Christ.
