Steven Michael Iuso was born and raised in the Bronx.
He is the 33rd Eagle Scout in Troop 182 in Throggs Neck. In the summer of 2002, he oversaw the renovation of the rectory garden at Saint Benedict’s Church when Bishop Edmund Whalen was the pastor. His renovated garden at the corner of the Bruckner Expressway and Otis Avenue has endured over the past twenty years. His time in the Boy Scouts played a big role in shaping his character and equipping him with the skills necessary to lead effectively.
He is a graduate of Saint Benedict School and Cardinal Spellman High School in the Bronx.
Steven received his B.A from Queens College with a major in History. He holds two Masters Degrees, one from Mercy College in Education and the other from Fordham University for School Building Leadership, with Honors.
Mr. Iuso became an educator in the fall of 2008. As an educator, he taught in the Archdiocese of New York and in the Diocese of Brooklyn for seven years, teaching English Language Arts, Social Studies, and Religion courses to middle school students.
In the summer of 2016, Steven became the principal of Christ the King School in the Bronx. Under his leadership, the school saw a rise in enrollment, major renovations throughout the building and grounds, increased test scores in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade, as well as cultivating relationships between the school and generous donors and alumni. He is extremely proud of being able to navigate the school community through the Covid-19 pandemic.
